I am new to Transitions and was wondering how is Transitions going to or can help my son. He is turning 18 in July and I have not gotten any help like transistions for him, at least as far as I know. What can I do? Is it too late? Any help is appreciated

Hi Darleen-
It is never too late to start planning for your son's post-school life. I hope you will explore this web site and learn about transition, your role, and what should be expected from your school. His IEP should include a transition component. Make sure you go into the IEP meeting prepared and knowledgeable about the school's obligations, your son's strengths and support needs, and advocate for him.

If you have any specific questions, post them here. We will try to point you to resources that can help.
